The concept is simple, mechanical sweepers are used to pick up debris from a roadway. Using brooms and suction, the machine is able to pick the debris up and store it until it can dump in a proper location. Many have water tanks and sprayers to reduce dust and increase air quality. These machines are used by municipalities to keep streets and parking lots clean but also by contractors, specifically milling and asphalt operations. The sweeper is used to clean up debris after the milling machine has gone through and before the paving machine lays the asphalt. This improves asphalt quality.
D&D’s Sweeping fleet include mechanical street sweeping vehicles and mechanical broom attachments, which mount on a skid steer.
